Anny Let's Dance

Hello lovelies!

Today's polish is one I fell head over heels with. Anny seriously know how to do their dirty, greyed out cremes. <3 Let me say straight away, the picture does not do it justice.

Let's Dance PUT ON YOUR RED SHOES AND DANCE THE BLUES is a sort of burnt terracotta orange. It's muted and to me there seems to be quite a bit of grey in it. It also has a distinct coral undertone. Pretty unique colour, if you ask me. It's darker and less bright than it looks here. I've been really loving colours like this lately, I think they look great with pale complexions. I used two coats here, application was flawless.

I am in love with this polish. I didn't expect to love it quite so much, but I've already put it on for a second time and I only got it on Tuesday (something that doesn't happen...err....ever). Gorgeous colour, amazing application and, as if I needed any more reasons to love this, it makes me sing Bowie at the top of my lungs. :D

What's not to love?! (Except for my horrible singing voice, obviously.)

Hello beauties!

Today's post was heavily inspired by the manis I've seen the lovely Kirsten do lately. I've been loving all the gorgeous glitter sandwiches she's been posting and decided to try and make my own. I'm quite pleased with the result and cannot wait to try other combinations! (This also reminded me just why I am lemming basically every Nfu Oh polish ever made.)

For this I used an awesome orange jelly by Anny called Sunrise. It's fairly sheer, though, and not quite the orange I wanted, so I started out with two coats of Paris Memories 217 (which is a medium/dark orange creme with shimmer) as my base colour. Then I applied two coats of Sunrise, a generous coat of China Glaze Techno (which I love love love) and topped it off with another coat of Sunrise and Sally Hansen Insta Dry.

What do you lovelies think? Did I do a good job for a first glitter sandwich? Any colour combos you can recommend or would like to see me do? :)

Pink Wednesday: glitter layering!

Happy Wednesday, lovelies!

The weather hasn't been cooperating lately. Last week when I was in Vienna it was hot and sunny every single day and the day I got back home it started raining. Is the universe trying to tell me something? :D

Anyhow. Here's my Pink Wednesday mani for this week. I actually really liked how it turned out except that it was like two inches thick and would not effing dry. Thankfully all the glitter concealed the dents perfectly. :) Also, I apologize about the tipwear.

This is three coats of Anny Upper East Side Chick (don't hold me to that...), a coat of Paris Memories 254 and a coat of China Glaze Bad Kitty. I have been loving Paris Memories lately; they have some seriously awesome glitters.

Swatches & Review: Anny Must Have - Chanel Paradoxal dupe?

I'm pretty excited about today's post. I've been lusting after Chanel Paradoxal since it's been released and often I was about to buy it and decided against it at the last moment. I adore the colour, but I just refuse to pay that much money for a polish that I know is low quality. I picked up several polishes in the vein of Paradoxal, but none of them looked like dupes/decent alternatives. Until my mom stumbled across this little beauty (I think she was as excited as I was).

This is two coats of Anny Must Have, no base or top coat. Do you see how glossy and squishy it looks?! Mmmm.

Must Have is a taupe-y creme with purple microshimmer. The shimmer is more prominent in person. As I said, I don't own Paradoxal, but this looks like a decent dupe to me. Application was smooth and easy and I love how shiny this is even without top coat. It has an almost jelly-esque finish (think Essie). I'm totally in love with it.

For 10€ I think it's a win. Great formula, beautiful colour and at a decent price. Me like.

Swatches & Review: Anny Wicked

Before I get to today's polish, I just want to say that I've been pretty busy lately and haven't had as much time for swatching and posting. I probably won't be posting my Friday Favourites every week. Maybe every other week or so. :)

Anyway, on to the pretty! Today I have for you Anny Wicked, which I've already shown you used under Essence Mystic Mermaid before. Anny is a brand I hadn't heard of until recently and I don't know if it's available anywhere else (I do know that you can buy it at Douglas in Germany as well as here in Austria, though).

Anny is a muted, greyed out aqua creme. This wouldn't really photograph colour accurately; I'd say the actual colour is somewhere between the two pictures, leaning more towards the second. Like i said before, it reminds me of a bluer version of Models Own Grace Green.

The polish is a bit on the thin side, but application was smooth and easy and it's opaque in two coats. The cap is fairly short as is the brush which is also rather firm and doesn't fan out all that easily. I thought it wasn't too bad, but I would advise to watch out for cuticle dragging. Just try to keep your touch as light and steady as possible.

As you can probably tell, I really love this polish. I love the colour and the glossy finish and how well it wears. The only downside is the square bottle that I just cannot figure out how to hold in pics. :P

NOTD: Essence Mystic Mermaid over Anny Wicked

Today I have a very simple but very pretty mani for you: Essence Special Effect Topper in Mystic Mermaid over Anny Wicked. The pics were taken after a couple of days of wear, so do excuse the slight tipwear.

This is two coats of Wicked, a coat of Seche Vite, a coat of Mystic Mermaid and another coat of Seche Vite.

Wicked is a greyed out, muted, minty kind of aqua. To me it's a slightly bluer version of Models Own Grace Green, which, as you all probably know, I adore. I'll swatch Wicked separately for you soon.

Mystic Mermaid wouldn't photograph properly, but it's silver microglitter (is it microglitter? It's very tiny and dries fairly smooth at any rate.) and slightly larger light blue glitter suspended in a clear base. The glitter in this is very dense and applies smooth and even. In the sun this is crazy sparkly and the blue glitter flashes pink at certain angles. So pretty! Got lots of compliments for this.

Also, I am incredibly impressed with how long this stayed chip-free. Those pictures were taken on the third day of wear (one of which was spent cooking and scrubbing pans!) and even so there's barely any tipwear. Usually I get chips within a few hours. Really pleased with this!
